(Of course we can get very complicated and sophisticated here if we want to go further in this discussion, and I find it very helpful to analyze.) Important historical commentaries were written by Tri Gyaltsen Senghe for the Solitary Hero practice and Lhundup Pandita for the 13-Deity practice; both have been translated. One really has to have already reached the point at which you are no longer affected by the disturbing emotions, but where you can still call upon the energy of them in order to use them in a beneficial way in your internal-yoga practice.
